Almost 3 Months to Go! - Posted: 29 Aug, 2007

Well, we've got about 3 months to go and things have fallen into place. We finally found the groomsmens' clothes to wear to the ceremony. They should be nice and comfortable with their linen pants and shirts! I think everyone is dressed now! We're just making the final decisions on Ben's shirt. Not too much longer now!

I found my dress! - Posted: 01 Aug, 2007

Hey everyone!

So...the day after my last final of nursing school, I thought it the most appropriate time to go wedding dress shopping! And, to much my surprise, I actually found my dress the 1st day! We went to Ballew's Bridal in Collierville and I tried on about 5 dresses. I liked the 1st and 2nd ones the best. We then visited many others thereafter. We ended with "Roxanne's Bridal" off of Ridgeway and Primacy Pkwy. I didn't even want to go in b/c we were all exhausted by this time, but Mom said, "No Corrie, let's just go in since we're here." So, I said ok. Exhausted, we drudged into the store...didn't see anything we liked. We were heading out of the store and I was about to tell the sales lady that I knew what I wanted and I didn't see it there, but thank you for letting us look around. I then decided to go ahead and tell her what I liked for the heck of it and BEHOLD!...She found my dress! But wait!...it ended up being the 1st dress I tried on at Bellew's in C'ville! It just didn't look the same. Actually, she hadn't even put the dress out yet. I was the 1st to even try it on in the store and it was the color I wanted- Ivory- so I didn't have to order it (which would take 12-14 weeks + 2 weeks alterations in length), so it was almost like the dress was sent directly to the store without me waiting for it to be shipped! What a conicendence! We are going back this Saturday with my Mom, Mimom, Mother-in-law, Sister-in-law, and one of my bridesmaids (the one who introduced us!) to make sure we're all "good to go"!...which I think we are! We are going to be one beautiful looking bunch! I can't wait for the actual day and the awesome pictures that will follow :)

Airports in St. Lucia - Posted: 25 Jul, 2007

The main airport at St Lucia is located in the south of the island, while the smaller, less used George Charles Inter-Island Airport lies in the north. As most of the activity goes on in the north of the island, passengers may find themselves on a longer transfer than they bargained for if they fly to Hewanorra International Airport.

St Lucia Hewanorra International Airport is located in the south of the island near Vieux-Fort, about 40 miles from the capital city of Castries. One terminal serves about 400,000 passengers per year and the airport receives flights from many international destinations with major carriers including British Airways, Air Canada, Air Jamaica and Virgin Atlantic Airways. The smaller airport in the north only serves Caribbean destinations.

Public buses and taxis are available from both airports to destinations all over the island.

Hey there! So, I'm having some issues with the size of our pictures to put in the gallery right now (technical difficulties!) and with school going by so fast, I'm having a slightly frustrating time getting them up here in between school stuff...bear with me :) I'll try to get more up when I get some down time.

So many places...Dominican Republic? - Posted: 23 Jun, 2007

Wow! There are so many beautiful tropical destinations to choose from! Ben & I did some serious digging around yesterday online to see what we liked & we came across a jewel that wasn't so obvious through our 1st thoughts. That's what makes it a "jewel" because we don't think many people think about the Dominican Republic! It's absolutely beautiful! There is so much going on in the scenery. Tons of palm trees, white beaches, crystal blue ocean, & the added feature that we love are the mountainous ranges in the backdrop! There is seclusion and a roustic type vibe going on here. Yet, the all inclusive, classy, resorts have everything you could need. We'll see where this goes...but I know that we likey :)
